If you are travelling with children, please make sure you comply with all child travel documentation requirements. These rules are strictly enforced, and failing to meet them may result in denied entry.

South Africa’s official currency is the South African Rand (ZAR). Major credit cards are widely accepted, and ATMs are readily available in urban areas.

Cape Town is a welcoming destination with many safe, well loved areas. As with all international travel, it is important to stay aware of your surroundings, avoid displaying valuables, and follow local advice.

South Africa has experienced scheduled power outages known as loadshedding. These are a very rare occurrence in Cape Town and will likely not occur during your stay.

Yes. Children are welcome across the collection, and several of our properties suit families particularly well.

Because layouts, pool access and sleeping arrangements differ from one property to the next, let us know the ages of the children travelling with you and we will recommend the properties that suit your group best.

Unfortunately not. We are unable to accommodate pets at any of our properties.

Our villas are designed for peaceful stays, not parties. However, intimate celebrations or private dinners may be permitted with written approval in advance.

Additional event fees and/or deposits may apply depending on the nature and size of the occasion.

Each property is unique, but most include scheduled housekeeping, WiFi, premium bath amenities and concierge support. We will confirm the exact inclusions when you book.

November to March is summer and the classic beach season, with long, hot days and the liveliest atmosphere in Camps Bay. It is also the busiest and most in demand period, particularly over December and January, so book early.

April, May, September and October are quieter shoulder months with mild weather and fewer crowds. June to November is Southern Right whale season, and the cooler winter months bring green landscapes, cosy evenings and a calmer pace.

Cape Town International Airport is roughly 30 kilometres from Camps Bay, typically a 30 to 45 minute drive depending on traffic.

Ride hailing apps such as Uber and Bolt operate from the airport, car hire is available in the terminal, and we are happy to arrange a private transfer on request.

Not for day to day life in Camps Bay. The beach, the tidal pool and the restaurant strip are all within walking distance of each other, and Uber and Bolt are widely used. The MyCiTi bus routes 106 and 107 connect Camps Bay to the city centre.

A car is useful for day trips further afield, such as Cape Point, Chapman’s Peak or the Constantia winelands. Street parking near the beach is free but fills quickly on summer days.

Yes, but be prepared for cold water. The Atlantic here is cooled by the Benguela Current and typically sits somewhere between 12 and 18 degrees Celsius, touching around 20 degrees at the height of summer. The shore break can also be strong.

Lifeguards are on duty at Camps Bay Beach during the summer season. For calm water, the Camps Bay tidal pool and the pools at Maiden’s Cove are sheltered and well suited to children.

The South Easter, known locally as the Cape Doctor, is a strong wind that blows through the summer months, usually building in the afternoon. Mornings are generally calmer, so plan beach time early.

When it is blowing, the boulder sheltered coves at Bakoven are often the most comfortable option, and Theatre on the Bay makes a good evening plan that does not depend on the weather.

Southern Right and Humpback whales migrate along the Western Cape coast between June and November, and they are occasionally spotted from the Atlantic Seaboard, including from the headland at Maiden’s Cove.

Sightings here are a bonus rather than a certainty. For reliable whale watching, Hermanus is around two hours away and is widely considered one of the best land based whale watching spots in the world, with peak sightings in September and October.
